Grants

Live On supports the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod by providing financial support for important priorities.

Seminary Scholarships: Candidates for rostered leadership who are active members of established or developing ELCA congregations in the Gulf Coast Synod and enrolled in an approved seminary program are eligible for financial aid. Live On’s goal is to enable candidates to complete their seminary education without taking on additional student debt. The program is administered by the assistant to the bishop and overseen by the Synod’s Candidacy Committee. Applications are available here: Seminarian Scholarship Application.

New Missions:  Live On works with the Synod’s mission catalyst and mission table to support mission developments and newly organized congregations in their first years of ministry.

Campus Ministry:  Live On supports campus ministry at campuses across the Synod, including Houston Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Houston and Rice University; Treehouse at Texas A&M University and Blinn College and Louisiana State University.

Seed Money: The Live On board’s grants committee reviews applications from congregations and synodical programs and makes recommendations to fund innovative and emerging ministry programs. If you have a project that is a candidate for a seed money grant, please complete this Live On Grant Request
